Just recently, a new discovery has been made. Birds do not like to fly near grape juice scented vapor. The Bird Buffer (Bird Buffer is a registered trademark) machine is designed to produce just the right amount of vapor to smell like sweet grape bubble gum, yet encourages the birds to leave the area. It is very effective. Within a few short weeks, the birds leave to go somewhere else, and the area is left clean.

Fog Force is applied as an invisible dry fog that causes an immediate repelling effect that eliminated bird activity. Birds were immediately affected by the scent and learned to avoid the area; leaving the pool area undisturbed. All equipment was easily camouflaged and attracted very little attention from guests leaving the client satisfied.

Critter Control Uses In-House innovations to cost effectively solve bird problems.
Taking Care of Business
Roger Elseth (Critter Control, Ft. Lauderdale) had a problem. How to remove pigeons and starlings from a shopping center roof top? He had researched some of the automated systems advertised, but the costs were too high. Using some ingenuity, Roger built his own system in-house with automated timers and nozzles to effectively apply Fog Force as an aerosol. The system consists of 3 strategically placed nozzles to maximize the air flow to cover the entire roof and some of the surrounding area of more than 3 acres.
“We are along the ocean and you can predict that most breezes will blow east to west. With that in mind, the nozzles were placed on the east side and the prevailing winds draw the Fog Force™ across the building. On our first visit to the site there were 100+ birds roosting the roof and sides of the shopping center. Now, after installation you rarely see even an occasional pigeon.” Critter Control services the shopping center by visiting the site quarterly to refill and check the equipment.
Fog Force™ has worked so well at the shopping center that Roger is developing additional custom systems for other clients. ”We just installed another Fog Force™ system for a Cargo Shipper at the Airport. We’ve managed to clear out all of the pigeons that were roosting inside the hangers with the same great results.”
Keys to Success:
1. Get Fog ForceTM to the birds.
2. Understand the "real" problem. In this instance the pigeons were roosting every night and during the day leaving hazardous droppings. Roger set the timers to only apply when the birds were present. Click to hide

And don’t come back!
Brian Cieslar, Agronomist at Curt Maberry Farm (Lynden, Washington) was searching for a solution to the flocks of birds that ravaged the blueberries year after year. The blueberry fields run parallel to a dairy farm with many areas of spilled feed and silage that tends to bring in hundreds of starlings. Brian decided to give Migrate™ a try.
Brian applied approximately 5 gallons of Migrate to a 3 acre area while leaving a small area untreated as a control. He was astonished to note that almost all the flocks left his farm immediately. “The next day 95% of the starlings disappeared and stayed away for a couple weeks. Except for a few stragglers, the majority of the birds just left.” Brian reapplied with 5 gallons of Migrate™ on a 2.5 acre parcel with the same excellent results. “The product worked just the way it should have, we couldn’t have wished for better results.”
Keys to Success:
1. Apply before birds establish site as feeding site.
2. Completely cover the fruit for full protection. Brian used Genesis SB-56 surfactant with a Gearmore sprayer.
3.Measure success by reduction in damage, not based on whether birds are still present. In this case, the flock left. The stragglers remained as they were nesting locally Click to hide

Craig and Senske Pest Control used Fog Force TR with complete eradication of sparrows.
Perseverance really does pay off!
Pest Control Operator Craig Pearsall (Senske Pest Control, Spokane WA), has been working to eradicate a client’s sparrow problem at their home for several years. Sparrows were nesting carport rafters, roosting on railings and windows and causing quite a mess. They had previously tried to repel the birds using noise-making devices with mixed results. While the sparrows were initially frightened by the sounds, they soon grew accustomed to the racket and continued to nest and roost on the property.
He decided to try a combination of exclusion netting and Fog Force™ TR to address the problem. The netting prohibited sparrows from entering protected areas where they preferred to nest. Fog Force™ TR was used in more visible areas to repel birds from roosting on porch railings and window sills. Mr. Pearsall was able to eliminate the client’s worries regarding the smell of the product entering the home. “The Fog Force fragrance works to repel the sparrows without spreading into areas inside the house. Even TR’s installed directly outside bedroom areas created no problems.”
The results pleased a challenging customer with no follow-up calls to address. Mr. Pearsall affirmed, “Excellent results, really good overall. I’ll continue to use Fog Force™ as an integral part of our bird and pest control business.“

Timed release application of Fog Force which prohibited sparrows from establishing nests and roosting sites. Click to hide

Product: Migrate
Use Site: Sweet Corn
It pays to try new things!
Mr. Lucas decided to try Migrate™ to protect his sweet corn. He states that historically they experience 30% to 40% damage from the thousands of blackbirds that descend as soon as it’s ripe. They had previously tried to repel the birds using two air cannons and a shotgun without any real success.
He applied Migrate using an air-blast sprayer with approximately 8 hours drying time. There was a heavy rain that evening and he thought “Well, that’s that.” In the following days, when the blackbirds did not leave, he thought at first that Migrate™ had failed to protect his crop.
However, as they continued to harvest and monitor the fields he realized that even though the birds did not leave, they were not eating the ears. “We’ve ended up with excellent results, the birds haven’t touched it. We are experiencing damages levels around 1-2%. Even 12-13 days after application it’s still working and keeping the birds from touching the corn. I plan to apply Migrate again next year and duplicate the results.”
Application info:
Application rate: 2 gallons of Migrate™ mixed with 45 gallons of water per acre.
Keys to Success:
1. Apply before birds establish site as feeding site.
2. Completely cover the fruit for full protection. Mr. Lucas used an air-blast sprayer (orchard sprayer) with a non-ionic-surfactant.
3. Measure success by reduction in damage, not based on whether birds are still present. Click to hide
